This story begins in a mid size city on the central coast of California. Untypical for the area, this city managed to hold on to its mid century, blue collar, rural charm. It remains undeveloped, working class, and is a hodgepodge of culture. It is all at once a surf town, an agricultural strong hold, an oil town and a hippie haven. The west side of town remains the Latino Neighborhood and is an interesting mix of field workers, gangbangers, devout catholic Grandmas, butcher stores, taco stands and fire and brimstone churches.
